A creative soul with a passion for stories

Since I can remember, creativity has been at the center of my world. Give me a pencil and paper, and I’ll make something. Whether it’s a doodle, a design, or a story. Growing up, I always knew that creativity would be a huge part of my life. The how? Well, that took a little longer to figure out. Along the way, I discovered other passions, like gaming, math, and technology (yes, I’m a bit of a nerd!). But no matter what, my love for animals and the joy they bring always reminds me of the simple, beautiful things in life. But most importantly, I found something I truly loved: making cards and telling stories. What started as a small hobby blossomed into something bigger. That’s when I knew it was time to bring my passion to life. And Morwenna Studio was born.

Creativity is personal

Creativity has always been my driving force. With a background in International Creative Business Development with focus on Graphic Design and Online Content Creation, I mix artistic intuition with strategic thinking. My designs don’t just look good. They actually connect with people in a way that sticks. I love exploring new ideas, challenging the norm, and pushing the limits of what design can do. Innovation’s a big part of how I work, and I’m always looking to bring something fresh and exciting to the table.

Along the way, I’ve done a bunch of internships, including two amazing ones abroad. Six months in Norway and another six in Spain, both as a graphic designer. Those experiences taught me a lot, not just about design, but about different cultures, ways of working, and how creativity looks around the world.

Morwenna: A Name With Meaning

The name Morwenna is derived from ancient Celtic origins, meaning "girl of the sea." It carries with it a deep sense of mystery, power, and transformation. The qualities that mirror the ocean itself. The sea is unpredictable, beautiful, and brimming with life. It has been a constant source of inspiration for me, symbolizing endless discovery and the perfect blend of depth and surface, where there’s always something new to explore.

Historically, Morwenna was also the name of a 6th-century Celtic saint, believed to have been one of the many daughters of the legendary Welsh king Brychan. She is associated with the Cornish coast, particularly the village of Morwenstow, where she is said to have lived as a hermit near the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic. The location, steeped in coastal legend and raw natural beauty, only deepens the name’s connection to the sea.

Celtic culture, with its strong reverence for nature, the elements, and the mystical, often viewed the ocean not just as a body of water, but as a living entity. A threshold between the physical and the spiritual. Naming the studio Morwenna is a way of channeling that ancient reverence into a modern creative space.

Fun fact: In Celtic folklore, the sea was also home to shape-shifters and selkies, mythical beings who could shed their seal skins to walk on land as humans. These tales echo the same themes of transformation and mystery that the ocean, and the name Morwenna, so vividly conjure.

To me, the sea represents both a place of rest and a spark for creativity. It reminds me that, like the tides, creativity is ever-changing, evolving, and infinite. This energy of the mystery, the beauty, and the transformative power of the ocean is what I strive to bring into every piece of work at Morwenna Studio. Each design is infused with the spirit of the sea: full of life, boundless in potential, and always evolving.
